The Council of Universal Buddhist University was established under the guidance of jurists, eminent educationists, and social workers with the vision of expanding education across diverse regions and communities. The institution was formally registered under the Government of Maharashtra with registration number MAH/242/2010, enabling it to promote and develop distance education on the pattern of regular, private, correspondence, and open learning systems.
Functioning under the framework of the Societies Registration Act, 1860, the university operates as a legal, autonomous, and non-profit educational body. It is committed to providing teaching and training opportunities in alignment with constitutional provisions, ensuring access to education for all sections of society.
The institution maintains active communication with various departments of the Government of India, State Governments, and Union Territories by sharing its bylaws, prospectus, and educational activities. The university is also expanding its global footprint by planning to establish study and examination centers for international students and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) in various parts of the world.
